What questions would you like to ask the council if you could?

We all have a lot of questions about what will happen next. But think what you might like to ask the council about their processes – such as about the whole process of setting this up in the first place. What comes to mind?

Might it be about the process of selecting a developer previously involved in bribery, housing that created breathing problems, and casting aside long-term residents like in Woodberry Down? During the procurement stage, two developers pulled out – leaving only one.

What about the 2019 engagement process? We asked Councillor Cotton to provide some evidence of the steering group that supposedly met in 2019. There has been no response to date. Did any meeting take place – and on what basis could our local Councillors Hartley and Bore claim community support for this plan?

Why aren’t people in Ladywood involved in planning the meetings that will supposedly occur from September?

    My parents have lived in Ladywood their working life and have contributed towards the community for over 40 years. They are both elderly and own their own home.
    Why weren’t we consulted on these plans?? You have known about this since 2019, you haven’t consulted anyone in Ladywood until now!!! Why do our homes have to be taken to build luxury flats that we all know that people in Ladywood won’t be able to afford. You should all be ashamed!!!

    Shall we first focus on challenging what the BCC haven’t done from day one of the regeneration plan? e.g. Never mentioned ‘demolition’ in their notices, no consultation at all, never let the residents know about any bidding/tender until the contract has been given to St. Joseph, etc.
    If any of these has against any laws, rules, procedures or guidelines, it is probable that we will postpone or even overturn the whole regeneration plan. Then no worry about anything further.

    Will the Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO) be sent out to Phases 1,2,3 and 4 at

    If The regeneration goes ahead, (We Hope not) Will all the Phases be demolished at the same time?

    My Mom has been a council tennant for 40yrs. What are her choices and chances of getting “like for like” when the housing shortage is so bad? Where will the properties come from seeing there are already thousands in temp accomodation like hotels waiting for homes?
