LADYWOOD FUTURE
Gone are our Walks, our Crofts and our Roads.
Gone are our Avenues, our Streets and our Groves.
Gone are our Crescents, our Ways and our Closes
Our schools, parks and shops
All our familiar places.
Gone are our friends, our neighbours, support
Gone are our families, those raised in this ‘hood
Dispersed to wherever
From their homes which once stood.
Gone are our gardens, our balconies, where flowers once grew
All gone by the wayside
Like the life we once knew.
The soul of OUR Ladywood won’t raise from the dust
So stand up, be counted
This fight is a must.
Save our homes and our neighbourhood
From those wanting us out.
Stand Proud, Stand Together and let them hear us shout:
THIS IS OUR LADYWOOD
