Is the council accepting phone calls about the regeneration?

We received the below email today.

Thank you for your e-mail, please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you.

I have liaised with my colleagues who are responsible for this scheme and can now provide you with the following update.

Birmingham city council is aware that the community in Ladywood have a lot of questions about the proposed regeneration of your area and have been working hard to be able to share more information and to answer some of these questions as quickly as possible. They have formulated a set of Frequently Ask Questions (FAQS), which we hope will answer some of your questions at this early stage, with a hard copy available in the Ladywood Community centre or via the following link:- Ladywood Estate Regeneration Scheme | Ladywood Estate Regeneration Scheme | Birmingham City Council

We are sharing this information with the community along with details on the next stages of engagement and consultation, which will take place over the coming months and years.

The Council is committed to working collaboratively with residents to ensure you are fully informed, involved, and at the heart of future decisions by developing a Resident and Community Charter. The Charter will reflect the priorities of local resident’s, a shared vision for the future of the area, the principles that will guide the regeneration process and the councils offer to residents and the wider community affected by the regeneration.

We want to ensure the community has ample opportunity to be involved in shaping the Resident and Community Charter. Many of you shared the ways you would like to be involved by completing the contact form and we have used this to plan how we will communicate and engage with you. If you are interested in attending one of the engagement sessions please click on the following link:- Birmingham City Council (eventcube.io).

Alternatively, you can call the team on 0121 216 1002 during Monday – Friday form 09:00 – 17:00.

There will be many ways to be involved and we will keep you updated of these over the coming months.

We are still at a very start of this process, so there will be some questions which we do not have detailed answers to now. We know it is important that we answer honestly, transparently and as fully as we can at present.

This information will be updated throughout the regeneration project as more details and updates become available – which will be published on the Birmingham City Council website, shared at events and through newsletters.

I trust that this response has addressed your concerns accordingly, however, if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me again.

Yours sincerely,

Leigh Mornington
