I went to 18th of April 2024 surgery in Ladywood Community Health Centre (my views only – notes not approved by council)

These are the questions I have asked Colette and one of her colleagues from council.

Q1.  As a homeowner can you explain how I would benefit even 1% from the Ladywood Regeneration?

A1. They didn’t answer the question and they kept silent. But I told them that we are not dumb and stupid, we are well educated people and we are sitting on a gold mine location. I am not leaving Ladywood and I want like for like without any additional cost, and I have made that very clear for you in the last workshop.

Q2. Did you look at the investors (Berkeley Group) history and the background before being selected to be the best for Ladywood Regeneration?

A2. They said yes we did, they had some issues but it has been resolved. I replied back and I told them that stop lying to us if you look at reviews now you will see so many complaints and problems up-to-date, we already lost the trust with you and you are not trustworthy.

Q3. Is there any Masterplan yet?

A3. They said there isn’t one yet. I replied back and I said there is a Masterplan and you don’t want to show us, stop lying to us. They told me can you prove to us there’s a Masterplan I replied back and said there is no investor will come to the area to invest without knowing what they are going to do, they already have their own aim and target and how much profit they will make from my location, this is another lies from you and how we can trust you.

Q4. According to you there is no Masterplan. Can you tell me when the Masterplan will be done?

A4. They said the Masterplan will be done together with the residents after the contract has been signed with the investors. I replied back and I said we want to do the Masterplan together before the contract is signed with the investors. They told me we can’t do that. I replied back and I said when you signed the contract with investors, you as Birmingham Council and the Investors will do the Masterplan that will suit you, I am telling you that we will fight for the Masterplan to be done together with all of us before the contract been signed and us the residents who have to decide how Ladywood Regeneration will be done.

Q5. Who delayed the Ladywood Regeneration?

A5. They said to me the homeowners delayed this regeneration. I replied back and I said we are not an easy target and we will fight until the end and we have to get what we want and this regeneration will not be happening until you give us like for like without any additional cost. Also I told them that the questions which we have told George to submit to you it takes you so long to answer them and you came out with stupid answers and you didn’t make very clear answers. You have stated in one of those answers to the questions for homeowners that you will give us share equity or zero rent share ownership. I am telling you now that it is one of your dreams and that will not happen. They told me that is only an example, I replied back to them and I hold them if this is an example why you don’t add this example like for like without any additional cost. They replied back to me and they said this a good question. I told them you already know what we want like for like without any additional cost, why don’t you give us that. they keep saying it is too early to answer this question. I replied back and I said you have an answer for everything but when you come to this question you have no answer how do you accept us to trust you.

Q6. Are you going to book a place and invite the homeowners because you said that you have the problems with?

A6. The answer to this question from them I don’t think so. I replied back and I said even if you divide us or separate us or try to bull us one by one you will get the same answer we still unite and you can’t separate us because we have the same aim and target

Q7. Why are you doing more surgery and workshops?

A7. Their answer was. These workshops and surgery will help us to create the charter which will help us to communicate with the residents. I replied back to them and I said you already  know how to communicate with the residents from the previous workshops and the online survey. You are always making lies and you believe your lies. Please don’t play with residents’ feelings, I am  already taking depression tablets and soon you will get the letter from my solicitor to make depression and anxiety claims because you are affecting mine and my family’s health.

Q8. Why Birmingham City Council can’t go somewhere else where there is an empty land to do the regeneration?

A8. They said Ladywood needed the regeneration. I replied back and I said we are the residents who have to decide where the regeneration is to be done. I told them if you look at the regeneration in Belgrave Middle Way and Highgate Middle Way the Council is building round the old existing houses and they didn’t touch the existing houses why you don’t do the same here in Ladywood. They said to me Ladywood Regeneration is totally different to that. I replied back and I said the reason is Ladywood lands are more expensive and you don’t want the lower class people to live in Ladywood after the regeneration is completed and I am telling you now that we will make it very hard for you and try to stop the Ladywood Regeneration completely.

Q9. If the Ladywood Regeneration went ahead, can I see my new houses built before I moved in to it?

A9. They said no but if you decided to stay inside the Ladywood Regeneration zone and you got an offer maybe you can see your new home being built. I replied back to them and I said I already told you many times on a different occasion that I wanted like for like without additional cost and I am not leaving the regeneration zone and I want to see my new home that I am moving to being built while I am watching.

Q10. Who can guarantee us the company who will take over the Ladywood regeneration (Berkeley Group) doesn’t go bankrupt?

A10. They said I don’t think so the will go bankrupt. I replied back and I said this is the list who I now announced bankruptcy or went to a financial difficulty.

1. Carllion company who was building the Smethwick hospital.

2. Port Loop. Hagley Road Tram has financial difficulties and it took them so long to get built.

3. HS2 every time they announce their financial difficulties and the government helps them and will not go to Manchester the way it was planned originally.

4. Birmingham City Council (You lot) who are the richest and the largest local authority in Europe announced the bankruptcy. If Birmingham City Council can’t guarantee themselves how we can trust them. We don’t trust anyone these days anything can happen and I can’t guarantee myself until tomorrow.

Q11. Do you think that our MP Shabana Mahmood and the Councillor Albert Bore Kath Hartley representing us?

A11.Their answer was, this is nothing to do with us, I replied back to them and said do you remember when we had the first meeting in July 2023 last year you have seen how the councillors were embarrassed by the residents, they said we remember that. I am telling you now none of them will get my vote this time and you the Council, MPs and the Councillors are the Public servant.
