Ladywood Unite Press Release and Updates

Here is our latest press release from Ladywood Unite, which sets out the community’s Principles and Red Lines following extensive local consultation throughout May and June.

As part of this process, we also consulted with Birmingham City Council, the developer (representatives from Berkeley Group and St Joseph), and our MP, Shabana Mahmood.

Attached are the Principles and Red Lines document, LU latest press release, along with the responses we received from both the Council and the developer, though these were nearly identical in content.

The Principles and Red Lines reflect the strength of feeling across the community and our determination to ensure regeneration is done with residents, not to them. We’re also working closely with our MP’s office to press for greater transparency, accountability, and a resident-led approach, one that aligns with the Council’s own engagement framework, Powered by People.
