Resident 1: Hi all, i attended the drop in meeting on King Edwards road, I was shocked, I find myself rushing from an hospital appointment to be met on the pavement talking about how to complete masterplan!!!!!. It was cold 🥶 🤧 my body shaking, it’s all in my favour that [local shopkeeper] knew me and allow me to sit in the laundry to keep warm while I was interview.
The same questions, we’re asked about why we want to remain refresh our home, how we are refresh and bulid our community, what we would like to see ect, which I pointed out that we did this already.
How much more of this are we to put up with.
In each of my answer was YES, but defined what you mean, because is good for one is not good for another my home is not someone else liki g because it’s my taste. I have never lived in a tower block. I always lived in a house so how they come to the conclusion that some of us want to live in a tower block. I like to sit put in my garden, plant 🪴 flower my vegetables 😋 hang my clothes out in the fresh air, sit down and smells the refreshness as I relaxed.
I pointed out about what community is people knew each other, share with one another, see the love of our family in our relationship I the community. Listened to each other stand with them. Can I just say if we are going to talk about Faith groups. Let’s remember that faith means taking it in meetings to show unity with each other, nit just say it, but live it.
I’m still feeling the cold 🥶 in my bones.
I don’t want to upset anyone. Not just because I was in the cold on the pavement both the thought that they can hold a drop in meeting on the street.
They should be totally be a shame!!!!.
I pray that their eyes will be open from the answers that they go from the community, and their plan to change our way of life and our home remain intact and their masterplan. Fizzled like the snow on the ground melts away.
Resident 2: After the first session I booked to go to was cancelled, I booked to go to another session. I was disappointed to find out that this wasn’t a meeting but a few boards stuck up outside at the shops, in the freezing cold and rain with nowhere to sit. It was not welcoming, didn’t start at the scheduled time of 9am and they seemed to have problems setting up, with the boards falling over. There was no structure and no new information. Since it was meant to be an engagement session I asked them if they wanted any information from me, to which they said there was a survey I could fill out. I told them I couldn’t do this as there was nowhere to sit. She then suggested that I could fill out the survey online. This was a very poorly organised event, with a lack of consideration for those with mobility issues, especially considering feedback was given after the last round of engagement sessions that it was inappropriate that we had to sit on childrens’ seats. How can I put my trust in Berkeley that they will consider mine and my neighbours’ wishes with regards to the regeneration of Ladywood when this is how they treat us?
