Ladywood Unite Neighbourhood Forum Proposal – take the survey!

NEW SURVEY Tell the council we need our own plan for Ladywood – our neighbourhood forum idea is out!

We are making our own plan for Ladywood. Don’t leave it up to the council and developers! Tell us who you are and what you want and we will use this information to make a real plan that has the interests of residents and local stakeholders at its heart. The council has advertised the Ladywood Unite alternaitve plan through a neighbourhood forum – please, tell them we want it!

We understand this will help us have more power to ensure the plans by the council and the developer really have the interests of residents in mind.

As a Ladywood resident who has watched with alarm the ways my neighbors living in the Regeneration Zone have not been included in plans for their neighborhood, and the ways they have been potentially threatened with displacement, I very much welcome the idea of a Neighborhood Forum to deal with the democratic deficit in Ladywood on housing and other issues.

as a resident affected by the regeneration scheme, A neighbourhood forum and a neighbourhood plan are essential,

The council need to look at.

Family size homes, not just flats,

better housing for people with large families that are living in overcrowded environments.

Current residents are guaranteed to remain in the area at no additional cost, also ensuring new homes are affordable, at social care levels.

    prevent displacement during redevelopment.

inclusive and accessible decisions making processes.

accessible health care and community service support.

As a resident affected by the regeneration scheme &all the uncertainty not being involved&ignored by both developers and BCC it is mentally draining

We seem to be constantly ignored fobbed off like we are disposable

I do believe that we NEED a Neighbourhood forum to deal with the democratic deficit in Ladywood housing

We the people of Ladywood many of whom have been here for many years need to have more say and involvement in the project plans.

Many people wish to remain in the area, with little upheaval and no unnecessary demolition.

If it aint broke don’t fix it. Nearly another year gone by and little visible progress.

At last developer meeting in 2025 we were more or less promised an update in Jan 26, we are now mid way through june and nothing significant is coming through to us.

Time for a change, so we have come up with our own plan for what best suits our requirements. We live n work here.

New councillors due to be appointed lets hope this brings significant change, for the good.

A truly ethical approach to housing and retrofitting starts with people, not profit. It is about creating communities where residents are treated with dignity, listened to with respect, and given genuine security in homes that are warm, sustainable and truly affordable. The message must remain clear: social housing and genuinely affordable homes are essential to a fair society. Regeneration and retrofitting should empower existing residents, not displace them. Investment should focus on improving the quality of homes, reducing fuel poverty, supporting sustainability and ensuring that ordinary people can continue to live within the communities they have helped build over generations.

i wish to commend the regeneration plan for Ladywood by the council and private developer. I am a resident of Ladywood, Lighthorne AVE. The only thing we need is for the regeneration to move at pace and certainly quicker than it is moving now. The people of Ladywood really need this regeneration and the principle of buying flats / land, demolishing and building from scratch is the best option. We deserve this rather than tinkering with buildings and flats that will not solve the entrenched issues that have plagued the area and estates like Lighthorne AVE for decades. Please roll on the regeneration.

a neighbourhood forum is vital with the councils proposed regeneration threatening to destroy both the local community and a lot of vital social housing while ignoring everything we say.
